This project was inspired by the focus on the emerging techno-utopia scene and the current female living status in China. In East Asia, a large number of young girls choose to train themselves to be certain kinds of beautiful machines, to pleasure millions of unknown males hidden behind screens watching and consuming. This work continued the reflective thinking of consumerism, cyborg, hybridization, and female subjectivity in the human general sense based on the previous work “Biting Room and Nice Room”, furthering presenting a hybrid world based on our alienated spectacular world. They are focusing on alarming society phenomena among the Chinese young generation, as the fantasy of massive capital shocks and the illusion of quickly famous. This project is commissioned by EMBASSY Gallery in Edinburgh.
